In close cooperation with Hanya Leo from Selektiv Studio GmbH, a flat in Zurich-Wipkingen was completely renovated. The aim was to give the property in an art nouveau building an added value (room climate and room acoustics) in contemporary architecture by using clay. With this in mind, a polished rammed earth floor was realised, which on the one hand corresponds to the aesthetics of the architect (colour scheme, aggregates used) and on the other hand guarantees a pleasant room comfort via the integrated underfloor heating. Loam rendering on the walls and a wooden stud wall with loam panels ensure a constant room climate. Additional noise protection is provided by a suspended ceiling made of wooden beams with sheep's wool insulation and loam panels, which in turn are covered with a newly developed loam roughcast.
